Frugal Birthday Party For Kids

If you have not heard by now, we are in a recession! It seems there are a lot of people out there who do not have the cash or the credit anymore to live above their means. However, life still goes on. Children still want birthday parties and gifts. Many children do not know what a recession is, nor have an interest in what it is. When it is their birthday, they expect a party and a gift.
The Location
Parents should consider having their child's birthday party at a nearby park. At a park, there are lots of free things for children to do. Many parks have a water splash, soccer fields, tennis courts, etc....That way parents can splurge a little on the cake and gift.
Parents should also consider having their child's birthday party in the garage. A garage is huge, and there is lots of space to move around. Parents would need to get creative about the entertainment for the children. I think most children will be happy with food, music and games.
The Cake
Birthday cakes are very expensive. You get so little for so much money, but they are so cute. In order to cut costs on the birthday cake, parents should bake a cake. All you really need is some imagination and some cake decorations.

Retail Discount Offers

As everyone knows by now, our country is in an extremely deep recession. If you saved your money while the economy was strong, now is the time to buy the things you have always wanted because things are so affordable now.

Retailers have reduced the prices on their merchandise which is a good thing for frugal shoppers. I get so many coupons in the mail from bookstores to my favorite clothing store. I'm sure everyone does. But shopper beaware. If you are not aware, you may end up over spending. It wouldn't be very frugal and wise of you to go shopping every time you get a coupon in the mail. It is okay to shop, but don't over do it. Watch out!!!

I hope this economy makes a comeback really soon, but I am enjoying the low prices because I can finally buy the things I want at the price I want.

Frugal Henley Tees

I was at Walmart today, and I saw some Henley (Hanes) tee shirts for $3.00. I could not pass them up. The regular price for the tees were $7.00, which is not a bad price, but $3.00 is much better. They had solid and prints. I love these tees because they look great with jeans. I am not a big fan of Walmart nor do I shop there a lot. Whenever I go into this store, no matter what neighborhood it is, this store always seems to be congested. I really don't see why. Walmart may be a few cents cheaper than Target on some items, but to me it is just not worth it to save some change. A dollar or more now that would be worth my frustration in the congestion.

A new store for frugal spenders

I have find a new store that frugal people across the nation will enjoy. It is called Nordstrom Rack. Too bad they don't have many of these stores around. The good news is if one is near you you are likely to find something that you like at a very good price. I am not a big fan of the clothes that I see. I believe they are truly overpriced left overs. However, I am a big fan of their shoes and handbags. The handbags cost more than I want to spend, but maybe not more than someone else would like to spend. Anyway, after I live this store, I feel like I finally got a piece of the pie.............Yea, it makes me feel like I have moved on up on my $35,000 a year salary. My bachelors degree is really paying off. I can't complain because i wanted to help people, and I know there is not a lot of money in the helping field unless you go to school for a long time. That is why I am now working on my Masters degree. Anyway, I didn't mean to get off topic. The summary of this topic is Nordstrom Rack makes someone with a modest income ego feel really good.
